What to Confirm Before Booking a Stay with Your Pet
A pet stay in Korea is confirmed when the property writes back about this room, these dates, and this animal. A filter on a booking site, a photo of a dog in a lobby, and a brand that is pet-friendly in another city do not do that. Nothing on this site is a statute that forces a hotel to take an animal, so the sentence you need is the property’s.
Ask about the room, not the brand
Send the dates, the room type, the species, and the number of animals. Ask whether that room is one they will assign to you with the animal, or whether “pets allowed” means a different room that may already be gone. If the property names a size, a count, or a breed limit, that limit is theirs. Do not borrow a rail weight, a ferry weight, or a number from a different hotel and treat it as Korean lodging law.
Keep the reply. A phone assurance that does not land in the reservation is hard to use at midnight. If they will not answer before you pay, you do not yet have a pet booking. You have a human booking with a hope attached.
Make them define the size word
“Small dog,” “pet-friendly room,” and “one pet” are not measurements. Ask what they mean in kilograms, in the number of animals, and in species. A cat is a separate question from a dog. Two animals are a separate question from one. If they have a breed line, ask them to name it. Do not translate their adjective into the rail weight or the statutory muzzle list.
Ask until what hour the written yes still holds. A reply that assumes a 15:00 arrival does not automatically cover a bus that lands at 22:00, and a closed desk cannot read the email with you. Ask what they want if the animal is noisy at night. That answer is also theirs. There is no nationwide quiet-hour rule on this page to substitute for it. Put the animal in the first line of the message, not in a note after you have paid. A postscript is how the yes stays ambiguous.
Ask what happens if you leave the animal in the room: whether they expect a closed crate, whether housekeeping will enter, and whether the animal can be left alone at all. Those are house conditions. They are not a national lodging code, and a yes for the night is not a yes for the hours you are out.
Where the animal is allowed to be
Ask which parts of the building the animal may enter: the room only, the lobby, a garden, a restaurant on the ground floor. A hotel restaurant is a food business, not an extension of the bedroom. Whether that restaurant is operating as a pet-entry premises is the cafe and restaurant guide. Do not assume breakfast includes the dog because the room does.
Shared corridors in apartment-style buildings have a separate outing rule for registered dogs, covered in the leash guide. A hotel corridor is not automatically that kind of building. Ask the property what they want in the lift and the lobby, and follow the street rule once you are outside.
Fees and deposits, without a prediction
If the property charges a pet fee or holds a deposit, ask the amount, what it is for, and what their written condition says about returning it. Do not arrive expecting a figure you saw at another property. Do not assume the money comes back, and do not assume it is kept. The result is the sentence in their conditions, not a pattern from a travel article.
The same restraint applies if you cancel. A rate that says “free cancellation” for the person is not automatically a sentence about the pet fee. Read the line they send you. This page does not describe a standard Korean hotel refund.
The badge on the booking site
A badge is a search tool. It can be stale, it can mean “ask us,” and it can mean a sister property. Write to the place that will hold the key. Tell them if the animal cannot use a small carrier, because that is the fact that changes a yes into a no more often than the city name does.
The night you land has an extra failure: the desk can still say no after the ride. That scene, from Incheon or Gimpo to the door, is the airport-to-hotel guide. This page stops earlier, at the message you send before you pay. A one-night trip out of Seoul fails the same way if you leave without the reply, which is why the weekend guide starts from the room.
Pay after the reply
You are ready to pay when you have, in writing, the room, the dates, the animal they accepted, where that animal may go in the building, and any fee or deposit with their own words on what it covers. Everything else is a search result.
